Co-organized by the Shanghai municipal government and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the 2014 Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum was held on Dec 8, 2014 in Shanghai.
Yang Xiong, mayor of Shanghai and Shen Changyu, director of the National Intellectual Property Administration, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
This forum invited famous experts and scholars from government departments, research institutions, service agencies and enterprises in the Chinese mainland, Singapore, Morocco, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Australia, South Korea and Hong Kong SAR.
They had discussions on three topics of the latest trends and characteristics of International intellectual property development, the application of intellectual property and the realization of value and “the practice of intellectual property protection in free trade areas, sharing experiences and ideas about the management, utilization and protection of intellectual property. The discussions provided a useful reference for Shanghai to promote the realization of intellectual property value and improve the protection of intellectual property rights in the free trade area.
Since its establishment in 2003, the Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum has gained great influence internationally, and plays an important role in deepening international cooperation and exchange in the intellectual property field, promoting the development of the intellectual property industry and driving the city’s innovation.
