Yang Xiong, mayor of Shanghai, said in a speech that intellectual property is a strategic resource for future development. Shanghai has been paying great attention to intellectual property work by formulating an intellectual property strategic outline and signing an MOU with the WIPO for further cooperation. It has strengthened the creation, operation, protection and management of intellectual property. At present, there are 28 patents for every 10,000 people in Shanghai. Protecting intellectual property rights protects innovation. Shanghai is accelerating innovation as it develops. A globally influential technological innovation center must strengthen the use and protection of intellectual property, so that the creative wisdom of all kinds of talents can be brought into full play. “We will speed up the establishment of a quick response mechanism for the investigation and handling of intellectual property infringement, improve intellectual property credit management, continuously optimize the intellectual property service system, and create a good intellectual property ecological environment,” Yang said.
