Shanghai, WIPO deepen IP collaboration

Under the agreement, the two parties will work together on accelerating the transformation and application of IP and the construction of a system to solve the diversified IP disputes and training of IP talents, with the hope of attracting more IP resources and help Shanghai transform itself into an IP hub for the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Ying, the people’s government of Shanghai wished for further cooperation with WIPO to build a hotbed for intellectual property.

Gurry also said that WIPO is willing to contribute to Shanghai’s IP development with deepened collaboration.

During the event, a pilot (Shanghai) platform for the international operation of the State Intellectual Property Operation Public Service Platform (SIPOP) was also inaugurated. The platform will feature functions of IP trade, financial innovation, legal rights protection, operation of key industries and basic services, to become a crucial platform that bases itself in Shanghai, serves the country and links countries around the world.
