Updated: 2016-03-31 17:45

Foshan, a traditional manufacturing city in Guangdong province is putting all efforts to make the most of "Internet Plus", a national strategy.

The Internet Plus strategy is a new business model combining the Internet with traditional business sectors. The State Council, China's cabinet has initiated the Internet Plus strategy earlier last year to promote the use of the Internet to upgrade traditional industries and boost the development of emerging ones.

What is considered to be China's only Internet Plus themed exhibition will open for the second year in Foshan from Oct 20 to 23, according to a news conference on March 30. It is expected to speed up the industrial upgradation of the manufacturing base in the Pearl River Delta.

The first "Internet Plus" expo took place in Foshan in September last year, which attracted 476 exhibitors and 246,000 visitors. This year's exposition is expected to be much larger in scale as it plans to arrange for seven exhibition zones such as the cutting-edge technologies zone and intelligent manufacturing zone, as briefed in the news conference.
