Cold dish contest is popular in Xinjiang town

The Chaobei community, in the Dingshui town, in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region held the cold dish contest at the end of December 2014, which attracted many residents to show their cooking skills, and have a taste of different dishes.

Among the contestants, the ethnic group people were outstanding for their various special cold dishes, with one ethnic group participant named Lyme saying that she prepared the characteristic ethnic group cold dishes for this contest, "I am glad to invite people to have a taste of my food," Lyme said.

The cooking contest received a warm response, as one resident named Zhao Yulan said that the contest provided great opportunities for people to show their cooking talents and communicate with each other, she said, "I found that the ethnic group people made very delicious food, and I got chance to talk with several people about cooking."

The Party Secretary of the community, Lu Hui, remarked that the contest was successful, for around one hundred residents participating in the contest brought much delicious and creative food. "We want to organize more such activities to bring people together and help the different ethnic group people to further understand each other."
