Huocheng Lavender Tourism Festival comes to close

The third Huocheng Lavender Tourism Festival was brought to a successful close on June 18.

This festival, themed “Meet in Happy Huocheng and Experience a Fragrant Tour,” lasted four days from June 15 to June 18.

More than 700 writers, scholars, journalists, travel agents and entrepreneurs from both home and abroad were invited to attend the festival’s various activities, such as the painting and calligraphy exhibition, lavender industry development summit, marriage yarn film experience and love song contest. These activities were designed to promote Huocheng to the outside world and attract more visitors.

All scenic spots were open for free during the tourism festival to encourage the public to participate. In addition, entrance tickets worth 1.2 million yuan ($193,144) were distributed freely on social media platforms such as Sina Weibo and WeChat. The free sightseeing policy encouraged local residents to visit Huocheng.

The tourism festival received a lot of publicity. The festival held many press conferences and promotion meetings, and also released advertisements on various media outlets. More than 60 journalists received invitations to attend the festival. To date, four TV stations have covered the tourism festival, and more than 100 relevant news reports have been published in various newspapers and magazines.
