A trip to Chechang village offers visitors the opportunity to peer into the window of the past.

The village has an abundance of water resources and adjoins Yangcheng Lake to the west and a narrow river to the south.

Trees and flowery bushes grow as they please around the village, making a welcome change from the rigidity of urban planning.

A stroll down Chechang's narrow lanes, which weave between old farm houses, will offer up a visual feast. As the midday sunlight spreads over the roofs of old residential buildings, villagers sit on the sidewalks weaving fishing cages, cats take naps on doorsteps and geese potter around at a leisurely pace.
