3D Kunqu opera animation finishes filming

Kunqu Opera Baby, a 3D cartoon from Kunshan Hegu Digital Co, has finished shooting in Kunshan city, Jiangsu province, and began post-production for the first part on Jan 11, 2015.

Many Kunqu opera experts were invited to dub for the cartoon, including Zhang Jun, who is regarded as the "Prince of Kunqu Opera".

The cartoon is a perfect combination of animation, Kunqu opera and 3D technology. It depicts the life of a group of children who learn Kunqu opera in an attempt to promote traditional culture and raise public awareness of preserving intangible cultural heritages. The first part of 12 episodes is projected to hit the children's channel of CCTV in the first half of the year.
