The national agriculture demonstration zone in Kunshan's Qiandeng town, Jiangsu province, is striving to become a 4A level agriculture scenic area. Four key projects in the zone, including Flower Expo Park, Datang Ecological Park, Crocodile Valley and Jingu Farm, are speeding up their construction work to improve tourism facilities.

The agriculture zone aims to transform itself as a demonstration area for both agriculture and tourism development and a leisure tourist destination in the Yangtze River Delta region, as well as to seek cooperation with Shanghai's tourist attractions and scenic spots in other cities in Jiangsu.

The agriculture zone, built in 2000, has attracted a settlement of over 50 modern agricultural enterprises. It has become an epitome of Kunshan's agriculture industry and a key area for cross-Straits (Kunshan) agricultural cooperation.

Enjoying rich agricultural tourism resources, the zone was designated by the National Tourism Administration as one of the first batch of national agricultural tourism demonstration areas in 2004. In recent years, the zone's agricultural tourism has maintained steady development, backed up by Qiandeng’s old town tourism. Qiandeng plans to seek balanced growth for its old town tourism, cultural tourism and agricultural tourism. This year, the zone's focus will be on the application for 4A agriculture scenic spot status.
