3D light show to highlight Cross-Straits Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival

Updated: 2014-07-28

The 2014 Cross-Straits Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival will be held in Kunshan from September 5 to 21.

On the opening day, an eight-minute 3D light show will be displayed on a "water curtain" at Kunshan Times Park. Lasers and lights will be used to throw colors and images onto the water screen, whose screen will be 40 meters long and 20 meters high. The show will focus on the colors of the five Chinese traditional elements - metal, wood, earth, water and fire - to present Kunshan and Taiwan's traditional culture and the wonders of nature.

At the end of the light show, hundreds of sky lanterns (kongming lanterns) will fly into the sky to send wishes for enhanced friendship between the people of Kunshan and Taiwan.
