The 2014 Cross-Straits Mid-Autumn Lantern Festival will be held in Kunshan from September 5 to 21 and the preparation work is already in full swing.

Last year's cross-Straits lantern festival proved to be a success, attracting a total of 768,000 visitors and generating tourism revenue of 845 million yuan ($137.38 million).

All-round preparations for this year's festival are advancing smoothly. The overall plan and lantern design have been worked out. Currently, Kunshan is trying to invite 100 photography enthusiasts from local and neighboring cities to catch the gorgeous moment with their cameras.

The lantern festival plays an important role in boosting cross-Straits cultural exchanges. This year, the festival will feature cultural arts, interactive entertainment, scientific education and folk displays. Another highlight will be enhanced public participation and interaction.
