National badminton competition to start in Kunshan

The “Cherry Cup” 2014 national badminton competition will take place at the Kunshan sports center from March 22-23, according to the Kunshan sports bureau. Kunshan is the first stop of the competition. About 500 players nationwide will take part in the competition. Local citizens can watch the game for free.

The competition, jointly initiated by the Chinese Badminton Association and the Management Center for Table Tennis and Badminton of the General Administration of Sport, is the top badminton competition around the country.

Kunshan has held the competition for five consecutive years. The competition attracted the largest number of participants this year, including 100 players from Kunshan. The competition aims to choose eight winners to attend the finals, which will be held in July in Karamay, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
