Silk museum to open for free

Suzhou Silk Museum, located on Renmin Road, will open for free starting October 1 this year in Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

Tickets for the museum, which was founded in September 1991, are currently 15 yuan ($2.45) per person.

The museum opens from 9 am to 5 pm everyday except Monday.

The museum will recruit volunteers to serve visitors. Silk culture materials and services, such as inquiries, bag deposits and non-barrier service, will be provided at the museum.

The museum will also focus more on communication with schools and communities. Student groups of more than 20 members will get free introductions from the guide.

The museum’s maximum capacity is 200 people.
