Qingnianlu No. 2 Primary School in Baotou welcomed an Argentine soccer coach on March 14, as part of a plan to take campus soccer to a new level.

Cesar was a professional player in the Argentine Football League and became a coach after retirement.

He is currently a campus soccer coach at Maradona International Soccer Club. The club is owned by Maradona International Brand Management Co, a company set up with the authorization of Diego Maradona, an Argentine professional who was one of the 20th century’s greatest footballers.

Qingnianlu No. 2 Primary School is the first training base set up by the Maradona International Soccer club in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

During his 10-month coaching sting, which started in March, Cesar will organize a series of soccer training sessions for students at Qingnianlu No. 2 Primary School.

With more emphasis placed on improving campus soccer, Inner Mongolia autonomous region now boasts 1,650 schools offering soccer lessons and training sessions. The autonomous region was selected as the first provincial and autonomous region-level pilot area for the promotion of soccer.
