China-Mongolia equestrian festival coming in August

Inner Mongolia's sports bureau held a press conference, in Beijing on May 15, to announce the 3rd China-Mongolia International Equestrian Cultural Festival, which will open off in the city of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, on Aug 28.

Inner Mongolia has a history of being "a land on horseback", so, in recent years, it has held more competitions and activities related to the horse and the sports bureau, tourism bureau, sports federation, and equestrian association got together to hold the first China-Mongolia international equestrian cultural festival in 2014.

According to Tan Jingfeng, head of the sports bureau, this year's festival will have equestrian enthusiasts from surrounding countries taking part, with the aim of combining international standards and ethnic characteristics to develop a local brand through under a "equestrian charm, national sports, and industrial development" theme.
