A 24-hour self-service library was put into use in the city of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Feb 1, 2016. Readers are able to use their ID card and a 100 yuan deposit to borrow books within two minutes. The self-service library is located in the square in front of the Inner Mongolia Library. "It's more convenient to borrow and return books from Inner Mongolia Library with the help of the self-service machine, as we can return books even after the library is closed," said a student from Hohhot Second Middle School.
