An average outdoor temperature at the city of Genhe's railway station, in Inner Mongolia, dropped to - 36 C, on Feb 1, reminding people that this is one of China's highest latitude railway stations, where average annual temperatures run around – 5.3 C, and the lowest, anywhere from – 51.5 C to – 56 C, clearly establishing it as China’s coldest railway station.
