National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities finishes torch relay

The flame relay of the 10th National Traditional Games of Ethnic Minorities began on August 6 in Ordos, the host city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, after 56-day’s online relay by over 320,000 online participants.

Bai Yugang, secretary of Ordos Party committee lit the torch then handed it to the first torchbearer. Tondrub Wangben, deputy head of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission declared the start of the torch relay. The games’ torches were relayed through the games’ three venues by 56 torchbearers, representing the 56 ethnic groups in China.

Officials from the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, General Administration of Sport, Inner Mongolia and Ordos governments were present at the ceremony.
