Mongolia has become Inner Mongolia’s largest trading partner, with trade volume growing 6.6 percent to 10.65 billion yuan ($1.71 billion) in the first half of this year.

From January to June, Inner Mongolia’s trade volume with Russia, its former top trading partner, reached 7.64 billion yuan, which makes Russia the second largest trading partner of the region.

Inner Mongolia’s total import and export volume was 38.12 billion yuan in the first six months. It has trade relations with over 100 countries and regions, of which Mongolia and Russia accounted for 48 percent of the total. The other countries, including the US, Australia and South Korea traded more than 1 billion yuan with the region.

Exports to Kirgizia was a bright spot in the first six months, increasing 65.4 times over the same period of last year. However, it still accounted for a small part of the total.

In order to maintain stable trade development, the Manzhouli customs has been improving its services for Inner Mongolia's export-oriented economy. Multiple measures were taken to streamline customs clearance.
