North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will carry out a toilet renovation project in the region's tourism areas this year.

The project will build and renovate a batch of tourism toilets in the region's tourism cities, towns and scenic spots, and along tourism routes to improve their tourism service functions.

The autonomous region has put a lot of emphasis on infrastructure construction in tourism areas by utilizing tourism development funds. The tourism services quality was gradually improved, and a better tourism environment was thus created.

Moreover, Inner Mongolia works on the integrated development of tourism and cities. A batch of tourism-driven cities, towns, villages and streets were mapped out and constructed. It has developed diversified tourism and leisure products to target tourists in the surrounding provinces and regions, offering more destinations for urban residents to spend their weekend.

Inner Mongolia has abundant tourism resources, covering grasslands, deserts, forests, borders, ethnic group customs and cultural relics. To date, it has 321 tourism areas ranging from A to 5A levels.
