The second Beef and Mutton Industry Conference is set to open in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, from July 8 to 10.

The first Green Agricultural and Livestock Products Expo will kick off at the same time with the event.

The event’s first session was held in 2014 and proved to be a success. Its trading volume hit 1 billion yuan ($160.91 million) in three days. More than 500 exhibitors and purchasers from industrial associations and chain catering enterprises were recognized as crucial factors for the first session's success.

More enterprises and purchasers will take part in the coming event, said by Li Lichan, an organizer of the conference. Members of professional associations such as the China Cuisine Association and China Restaurant Supply Chain Management Association and representatives of some well-known chain restaurants will be present at the conference.

Thanks to the embassies of Australia and New Zealand in China, exhibitors from the two countries will attend the industry event with their products as well as their industrial experience, which echoes to the conference's theme: integration, innovation and win-win.

The Baotou government, one of the conference's organizers, has been striving to be a competitive player in the agriculture and livestock industries in recent years.

The success of the second China Baotou Beef and Mutton Industry Conference and the first Baotou Green Agricultural and Livestock Products Expo is significant for the city's agriculture and livestock industry development, according to the city’s government work report in 2015.
