Hohhot has been striving to cultivate e-business clusters and support e-business enterprise development in recent years, said the head of the Hohhot municipal bureau of commerce at an e-commerce trade conference on North China's potato supply chain held in Hohhot on March 11.

In March 2014, Hohhot, capital of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was listed in the second batch of national e-business demonstration cities. Moreover, one of the country's two cloud computation centers is located in Hohhot.

At present, the municipality is focusing on the development of local key e-business enterprises. The statistics showed Hohhot has 1,381 e-business enterprises, 109 of them engaging in e-business services. The e-business trade volume amounted to 32 billion yuan ($5.11 billion), accounting for 12 percent of the city's GDP.

Guo Chenggang, head of the Hohhot municipal commerce bureau, also pointed out that Hohhot will further promote the integration of advantageous industries, such as the dairy industry, modern agriculture, animal husbandry and tourism, with e-business as the next task.

Aside from e-business brands, it will also work to cultivate an e-business industrial chain that integrates technology, logistics, payment, verification and data to boost the city's economic transformation.
