Inner Mongolia to develop 12 tourism bases

North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region will put priority to building 12 tourism bases in Baotou, Hohhot and Erdos in order to drive the development of the regional tourism industry, according to the Inner Mongolia Tourism Work Conference on March 12.

Zhao Guanghua, head of the Inner Mongolia Tourism Bureau was on hand at the conference and said that Inner Mongolia would push forward the harmonious development of four major tourism destinations, including Hunlunbuir-Hinggan, Xilingol-Chifeng-Tongliao and Wuhai-Alxa, while implementing the construction of 12 tourism bases according to various themes including leisure tourism, cultural tourism, and ecological tourism.

Also according to the work conference, Inner Mongolia is going to develop four premium quality main tour routes, together with 18 sub tour routes of great appeal to tourists this year.
