Da Zhao is the first Gelugpa Buddhism monastery built in Inner Mongolia.

Da Zhao Temple's grand scale and beautiful relics have made it one of the most renowned temples in the Mongolian grassland.

Da Zhao is located in Dazhao Qianjie, Yuquan District of Hohhot. Constructed during the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty (1578), the temple was built by the Tumete Tribal Chief Alehan in order to celebrate his conversion to Buddhism.

Da Zhao is the first Gelugpa Buddhism monastery built in Inner Mongolia. Its grand scale and beautiful relics have made it one of the most renowned temples in the Mongolian grassland. It is a key protected relic of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
