Firemen put out a fire in Dawannanlu Street in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on July 5, 2009.

A total of 197 people were killed and more than 1,700 injured during the unrest in the capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The local authorities resolved the incident in line with law.

From Sept. 21 to 25, Chinese President Hu Jintao attended the United Nations Summit on Climate Change, the general debate of the 64th Session of the UN General Assembly, a UN Security Council summit on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, and the Pittsburgh summit of the Group of 20 (G20).

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen from Dec. 17 to 18.
