Gansu accelerates cross-border e-commerce

Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province plans a cross-border e-commerce platform to promote local consumption, the city's commerce bureau said on Aug 11.

Lanzhou has reached agreements with iSoftStone, a technology consulting firm in Beijing, to establish an e-commerce platform in Xigu district.

Foreign trade enterprises including Gansu Runyuan Chemical Co. have developed cross-border e-commerce in Gansu in recent years, and Lanzhou's cross-border online sales volume reached $10.40 million in 2014.

The city's cross-border e-commerce concentrates on agriculture, chemical engineering and metallurgy.
