The first Baiyin Cross-Straits Food Carnival officially opened on the morning of December 25 in Baiyin, Gansu province.

The carnival was organized by the Taiwan affairs office of Baiyin, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade of Baiyin, and the Baiyin Cuisine Association. It was undertaken by Baiyin Guofang Real Estate Co and Taiwan Gaoding International Development Co.

During the 10-day carnival, eminent chefs and manufacturers from Taipei, Taichung and Tainan will serve Baiyin people with over 100 kinds of Taiwan snacks, including "oyster omelets" and "pork balls".

The people in Baiyin can have a taste of Taiwan food without travelling to Taiwan.

The food carnival is not only an opportunity for the people of Baiyin to have a taste of Taiwan food, but also a platform for cross-Straits exchange and communication.
