Over 8.5b yuan invested in key Baiyin’s projects

Local officials expect to launch several projects in Baiyin in the near future, and have been promoting various initiatives, such as a combined heat and power project, the Gansu Hongtai Aluminum Company’s aluminum alloy industry chain and the northern Huining water supply project, which is part of the first phase of an initiative to draw water from the Taohe River.

By the end of August, Baiyin had listed 116 key projects that it wished to promote, with a total investment of more than 155.7 billion yuan ($25.64 billion), and over 8.5 billion yuan, 46.18 percent of the total, had already been invested.

Work on 47 projects, which had been temporarily halted, resumed, attracting investment of 5.04 billion yuan, 49.89 percent of the annual plan. Two projects including the China Power Investment Corporation’s Jingtai Hongshan Wind Farm Phase-I project, were completed and started operation.

Twenty-four projects, including Baiyin Jingyuan Shuangyong Project, attracted additional investment or achieved progress on schedule. Work started on thirty-eight out of 45 new projects, which attracted a total investment of 3.46 billion yuan, 41.52 percent of the annual plan.

An initiative to demonstrate the full film double furrow seeding technique, and three other projects, attracted their target investment, and Jingtai CP Group’ s modern agriculture and husbandry industrialization demonstration project and another seven projects also attracted additional investment or maintained scheduled progress.

The construction of twenty-six projects, including a cattle farm with a capacity of 5,000 dairy cows, has started as planned. In addition, seven projects, including Baiyin-Zhongchuan Airport Secondary Road and Lanzhou-Jingtai Highway, will break ground before the end of the year.
