The planning and construction of the Ting River Economic and Ecological Corridor is the core of the “Changting’s experience” and the main line for its development. The Ting River runs through the entire Changting county. There are 13 townships along the main riverway, while there are also 5 townships situated along the branches of Ting River.

Ting River Economic and Ecological Corridor, which takes facilitation of cultural integration, industrial agglomeration, urban and rural development, project integration and mechanism innovation as its principles, is not only an important approach to realize Party Committee of Fujian Province’s objective of ‘wealthy people and beautiful ecological environment’ and Party Committee of Longyan City’s construction goal of ‘from waste mountain to oasis and ecological homeland’, but also a concrete action of Changting County in improving water and soil erosion control and ecological civilization construction standard and facilitating construction of ecological civilization demonstration county.

Taking the building of ecological homeland and demonstration of ecological civilization as its objectives, Changting will strive to create upgraded version of ‘Changting’s experience’ from three perspectives:

Developing ecotourism by integrating different cultures

Integrates historic culture, Hakka culture, red culture, ecological culture and other elements into the construction and development of the economic and ecological corridor, conduct rational layout of ecological area and industrial area, vigorously develop eco-tourism, eco-industry, eco-agriculture and other industries, and build Ting River Economic and Ecological Corridor into a demonstration area for ecological civilization and industrial development.

Facilitating industrial agglomeration and adjusting layout for industrial development pursuant to local conditions

Changting has been committed to building Ting River Economic and Ecological Corridor into a growth pole for Changting’s economic development by integrating development of emerging industries with reconstruction and upgrading of conventional industries, continuously extending industrial system, and building industry chain characterized by linked upstream and downstream, complemented functions and sound supporting facilities.

It has been pushing forward urban and rural development, attracting people to move towards central towns and central villages based on Ting River Economic and Ecological Corridor and the 3 industrial parks, facilitating the effective interaction between industrialization and urbanization as well as the coordinated development of urbanization and agricultural modernization, striking a balance between population and the expansion of industrial clusters and townships, vigorously extending educational, medical, cultural and other infrastructures and public services to villages and townships along Ting River, especially to the provincial level small town of Hetian, city level small town of Xinqiao, Sanzhou Ecological Civilization Demonstration Area, beautiful villages and other key areas, and building Ting River Economic and Ecological Corridor into a pilot area for integrated urban and rural development.
