Caravan shines spotlight on seniors' health

By Yang Feiyue | chinadaily.com.cn | Updated: 2016-12-27 15:24

A hundred elderly people will embark on a special health preservation trip from Beijing to Hainan province's Sanya in early January.

An advanced caravan and professional medical team will be offered.

The trip is a joint effort between China Ageing Development Foundation's fund management committee and a caravan tech company.

The idea is to let the elderly get close to nature and enjoy retirement time.

The company plans to develop one million caravans for the elderly nationwide and come up with routes that cover major natural scenic spots on the mainland.

According to National Bureau of Statistics, the population of those older than 60 hit 222 million in 2015, and the figure is expected to break 400 million by 2035.
