With the principle of "Simplicity, Convenience, Effectiveness and Low Cost", the event received more than 300 foreign guests from over 20 countries including France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Albania, Armenia, Italy, Moldova, Australia and Tajikistan during the cultural expo.

And Ukraine's Culture Minister Yevgeny Nishchuk was one of them.

"Actually, I have been troubled by neck ache and backache for a long time. This is my first time to receive traditional Chinese medicine and it surprised me by making me feel relaxed after the Chinese massage," the Minister said.

"Traditional Chinese medicine treatment, of course, represents the essence of Chinese culture. After going back to my country, I will introduce Chinese massage to my people," the Minister added.

Gansu, located in the northwest part of China, is home to many Chinese herbal medicines, laying a solid foundation for the traditional Chinese medicine industry development. Also, Gansu province is regarded as the only province in China to set up a pilot zone for traditional Chinese medicine demonstrations.

In recent years, the Gansu government has promoted the "Going Out" strategy for traditional medicine industry. For instance, the local government cooperated with countries such as Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Hungary, and Madagascar in the field.

"By inviting experts and students to study and have academic exchanges in Gansu province, many foreigners have come to understand the essence of Chinese traditional therapy. Many of them even helped us compile teaching materials at various levels in English and Russian," Li said.

"Chinese traditional medicine has a strong appeal in many Asian and European countries and it is high time for them to enter the world stage," added Li.
