A dramatic slice of 'Splendid Asia'

The biennial drama festival is an opportunity to enjoy a month of world-class plays. Chen Nan reports

"Splendid Asia" presents eight plays from Asian theater troupes for the Fourth China International Theater Festival in Beijing.

Organized by the National Theater of China (NTC), the biennial event featured the Singaporean play, The Crab Flower Club, an acclaimed production by Toy Factory's artistic director Goh Boon Tech. It is based on the poems of Chinese writer Cao Xueqin's masterpiece, A Dream of Red Mansions.
