Students at Beijing Institute of Technology hung national flags from the windows and balconies of their dorms Monday to express their patriotism.

About 70 national flags were seen waving from a dormitory near the college gymnasium, the site of the Beijing Olympics volleyball events.

The students' action was spontaneous and reasonable, college spokesman He Yalan said.

Recently, the Lhasa riot and disruptions of the Olympic torch relay have ignited the patriotic enthusiasm of Chinese citizens.
