Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integration plan

A plan for integrated development of Beijing and its surrounding Tianjin municipality and Hebei province will be published soon, Zhang Qingwei, governor of Hebei province, said on Monday.

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Coordinated Development Program was jointly drafted by the three participants in 2014, said Zhang during a news conference on the sidelines of the annual National People's Congress.

Hebei has inked several deals with Beijing and Tianjin. The three regions have made breakthroughs in transportation, environmental protection and industrial collaboration.

Moreover, three railways, with a total length of 800 km are expected to open within the circle in 2015, said Zhu Huigang, deputy director of the Beijing Railway Bureau. A railway connecting Beijing and Hebei's Zhangjiakou, the capital's co-bidder for the 2022 Winter Olympics, will begin construction this year.
