The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television approved the establishment of HD premium documentary channels "the Search". The new channel will broadcast programs covering natural science, history, adventure and cultural, providing the audience with insight into the inner mysteries of the world.
The HD channelis created by the Hangzhou TV, and Wasu digital TV media groupis responsible for the overall operations. Wasu Group has nearly 20 million cable subscribers, and operates the largest Internet TV broadcast control platform.
The channel will broadcast everyday more than 5 hours of new programs, bringingto audience theworks of the world's top documentary production team. Zhao Zhifeng, vice president of Wasu group said, "In the past two year, the Chinese government did not grant any permission to new pay channel."
Advisory teams from Discovery Channel, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, and China Central Television will be invited to help present quality program. Zhao said the channel is bound to offer to nationwide digital TV viewers an exquisite documentary feast.
