HONG KONG - Hong Kong Observatory canceled a Cold Weather Warning on Monday morning, which was put into force on Friday afternoon, after this southern Chinese city experienced the coldest Christmas Day since 1984.

Hong Kong's temperatures dropped to a chilly 10.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning. In some places in mountainous New Territories, minimum temperatures fell to as low as 4 degrees Celsius.

Hong Kong Observatory said the winter monsoon was bringing cold and dry weather to the region. Forecasters say the weather will remain cool Monday before warming up sometime around Wednesday.
