BEIJING - The Chinese government has offered 10 million yuan (about $ 1.6 million) in disaster relief materials to flood-stricken Thailand, the Ministry of Commerce announced Wednesday.
The relief materials, which include 64 rescue boats and 60 sets of water-purifying equipment, were shipped Wednesday from Zhengzhou, capital city of Central China's Henan province, according to a statement on the ministry's website.
Thailand's worst flooding in half a century has claimed at least 269 lives and inundated some 3.4 million acres of farmland, putting Thailand's capital city Bangkok at risk.
