Bagatur appointed acting chairman of N China autonomous region

HOHHOT - Bagatur was approved acting chairman of the government of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Thursday at the third plenary session of the region's 11th People's Congress Standing Committee.

The 55-year-old ethnic Mongolian was also appointed vice chairman of the regional government.

The plenary session also accepted the resignation of Yang Jing, the previous chairman of the regional government.

Yang, born in 1953, took up the office of minister in charge of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission in March.
