The Chengdu Motor Show, one of the largest and most influential auto shows in West China, will run from Sept 5 to 13 at Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center.

After 17 years of development and with the strong support of exhibitors and visitors, CDMS stands out from other second-tier city auto shows and is regarded as one of the top four shows in the country.

A media day will be held on Sept 4, professional visitor days on Sept 5 and 6 and the public will be welcomed from Sept 7 to 13.

Each day, the event will run from 9 am to 6 pm.

During the show there will be driving and repair and engineering knowledge competitions open to the public.

An auto-themed park as well as a summit about new media in the auto sector will be held.

Chengdu is regarded as one of the 10 most vigorous economic cities of China, ranking first in comprehensive strength among all the cities in the west of the country.

As the largest consumer market for vehicles in West China, Chengdu has long been known as "the third-largest consumer city for private cars" in the nation. Auto-related spending in Chengdu has seen sustained growth rates of about 30 percent in recent years.

Chengdu has a thriving sales network, including more than 200 3S and 4S stores and over 6,000 auto maintenance enterprises.

And as the southwest China's financial center, Chengdu has buying power and huge market potential.

Pockets of auto related businesses in the city have sprung up along Airport Road, Yangxi Line, New Chengwen Road and Wuhou Avenue.

In the Chengdu Economic Development Zone, the south, north, east, west and central areas have started to form a comprehensive industrial structure involving manufacturing, trade, recreation, innovation and service.

A complete auto industrial chain is under rapid construction in the city.

For the ninth time since 2006, Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai is one of the organizers CDMS.

New concepts of management and international standards of services have been introduced to the event and it has gained large investment and support from leading car manufacturers and comprehensive media coverage.

The organizers hope this indicates that the CDMS is on track for rapid expansion and growth in influence in its field.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Automotive Sub-Council and Society of Automotive Engineers of China support the show.
