China issues guidelines to develop 'all-for-one' tourism demonstration zones

Xinhua | Updated: 2017-06-12 15:32

BEIJING - China issued guidelines on Monday to develop "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zones to encourage local governments to integrate tourism resources to improve tourism competitiveness and service quality.

The demonstration zones should have high standards of governance, extensive tourism products and services and active public participation, according to the guidelines released by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).

The idea of "all-for-one" tourism was first mentioned in this year's government work report to cater to the country's growing demand for tourism products and services and facilitate economic transition.

The CNTA encourages local governments to build on each region's tourism resources to develop unique tourism competitiveness.

The CNTA will entitle qualified regions to become "all-for-one" tourism demonstration zones, and delist those that fail to keep up with requirements, according to the guidelines.
