SOFIA - Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Wei Jinghua and Bulgarian caretaker Prime Minister Georgi Bliznashki emphasized here on Friday evening the two countries will further deepen their bilateral cooperation.

They made the statements at the reception celebrating the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Wei said Bulgaria was the second country in the world to recognize the People's Republic of China.

Wei said China is willing to work together with Bulgaria to deepen the trust between the two countries, continue to develop and expand economic and business cooperation, and enrich cultural exchanges between the two peoples.

In turn, Bliznashki said the traditional friendship between the two countries and the two peoples has been deepening and strengthening.

He noted with satisfaction the "noticeable upswing in all spheres of bilateral relations", reminding that in January this year, the two countries established relations of a comprehensive friendly partnership and cooperation.

"The strong foundation of the long-standing friendship and cooperation, and a shared vision for the future direction of their development, give us a reason to work more actively to use and fill with content the significant potential of our relations in all areas of mutual interest," Bliznashki said.

Bliznashki said Bulgaria will continue its efforts to attract Chinese investment and tourists, increase the Bulgarian exports to China, and implement joint activities and projects in various areas.
