DAVOS - Iran would like to reopen trade with neighbors and invite foreign investment into the country, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Thursday in Davos.

"I would invite all distinguished participants to travel to Iran and witness the extensive field for investment and make contact with Iran's private and public sectors," said Rouhani while addressing political and business leaders at the ongoing World Economic Forum, revealing he had already met with some energy executives earlier Thursday morning.

Referring to the implementation of the Geneva agreement concerning Iranian nuclear activities, Rouhani said economic cooperation between Iran and other countries is expected to be rebuilt.

"We intend to reopen trade, industrial and economical relations with all of our neighbors, such as Turkey, Iraq, Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, gulf states, as well as Central Asia," he said.

The president also expects to improve Tehran's relations with Europe following the nuclear deal. "We have had a history of deep economic and trade ties with European states. With the implementation of Geneva agreement and its subsequent steps, Iran's relations with Europe will be normalized," Rouhani said.
