China Telecom to offer iPhone 4S

BEIJING — China Telecom Corp, announced Feb 20 it will offer the iPhone 4S starting March 9, becoming the second Chinese operator to offer the Apple handset on a contract.
Customers can apply for the iPhone 4S starting March 2, while sales will start on March 9, the company said. Customers can choose a suitable service plan at one of China Telecom's authorized stores, or through its website www.189.cn.
A two-year contract with a monthly payment of 389 yuan entitles the subscriber to a free 16- gigabyte handset. A three-year plan cuts the monthly payment to 289 yuan.
