Nantong promotes new energy industry in Osaka

OSAKA -- A business promotion seminar on new energy industry in China's Nantong city of Jiangsu province was held Friday in Osaka, western Japan, attracting about 60 business leaders and researchers from Osaka and its surrounding region of Kansai.

The event, held in a popular hotel in central Osaka, was organized by China Power Supply Association and some other institutions in cooperation with Osaka Prefecture, aiming to widely introduce the latest information about Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area in the city.

Participants, including many from electronics makers, manufacturers and renewable energy specialists watched a video program to learn the development process of the industrial park and also a series of the business strategies to attract investment in clean energy and high-tech industry.

During the seminar, Zhu Jian Guo, head of the Nantong delegation said that since the establishment, more than 700 foreign companies, including 160 from Japan, have invested in the industrial zone.

He also stressed said that Nantong city, located on the bank of the Yangtze River, currently pushes incentive schemes to boost new types of industries, such as wind power generation technology or lithium ion battery manufacturing, in the industrial area which has excellent road access to nearby airports and seaports.

Following the speech, the participants exchanged their ideas of the successful investment models and the economic benefits living in the city.
