Chinese leaders join panel discussions

President Hu Jintao and other senior Party leaders on Monday continued to join group discussions with NPC deputies from across the country.

President Hu Jintao joined a panel discussion with NPC deputies from Tibet. He called for efforts to implement the policies and plans of the central government to improve Tibet's economic development and the lives of local people.

President Hu Jintao stressed the importance of development and stability in Tibet, and asked them to continue their work to consolidate political unity.

Top legislator Wu Bangguo told the Shaanxi delegation that the NPC's work must concentrate on the major problems. He said it's also important to strengthen supervision and legislation.

Premier Wen Jiabao joined the delegation from Zhejiang Province. NPC deputies gave their views on promoting the private sector and increasing support for enterprises and education.

During talks with deputies from Jiangxi province, Vice Premier Li Keqiang said Jiangxi played a very important role in the development of China.

Senior party official He Guoqiang joined a group discussion with deputies from Guizhou province. He pointed out that right now, China is facing difficult circumstances, so it is important to pay attention to people's well-being.
