China will set up a third-party data authentication mechanism to provide accurate figures about domestic media circulation, said Liu Binjie, head of the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP).

The GAPP is contacting international press distribution data authentication organizations now, aiming to introduce the third-party to provide fair and accurate distribution figures to the public, Liu said on the sidelines of the second session of the 11th National People's Congress, China Business News reported Tuesday.

So far, the GAPP has published dozens of domestic media groups' audited distribution data and it will take two to three years to finish work on all domestic media, according to Liu.
