"Please show the health code, itinerary code, nucleic acid test certificate, and vehicles please wait," Zhang Xin said with a slightly scratchy voice at one of the entrance and exit points of the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Zhang is from the steel structure company and is responsible for traffic guidance.
At the site, he handled vehicle registrations while assisting staff to guide vehicles into the venue. Under the scorching sun, the light made him almost unable to open his eyes, and his cheeks were flushed for unknown reasons—either marks left by the prolonged exposure or caused by constant shouting.
