One of the best actresses of her time, Jiang Wenli returns to the television screen in the forthcoming TV drama The Story of Zheng Yang Gate.
Jiang, who was crowned with best actress awards -- the Golden Rooster Award and Flying Apsaras Award -- the top honors in China's film and television industries, has starred in a number of popular productions, including Gu Changwei's 2007 arthouse film And the Spring Comes.
The upcoming 48-episode drama also features veteran actor Ni Dahong and actress Tian Hairong, and will air on Beijing Satellite TV and Jiangsu Satellite Channel as well as the streaming sites iQiyi and Tencent from Oct 16.
The story, which centers on a small restaurant's operator, chronicles the protagonist's ups and downs in a time span from from 1950s until the 2000s.
