JERUSALEM - Israel said Sunday it welcomed the mediating Quartet's call to restart peace talks with the Palestinians despite "some concerns," said the Prime Minister's Office in a statement.

"Israel welcomes the Quartet call for direct negotiations between the parties without preconditions," said the statement issued by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's Office.

"While Israel has some concerns, it will raise them at the appropriate time," it added.
