China, ASEAN harvest scientific innovation cooperation

The Innovation Space for China-ASEAN Science and Technology Talents unveiled its plaque at the 9th Forum on China-ASEAN Technology Transfer and Collaborative Innovation in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 9.

The year 2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-ASEAN dialogue relations and has seen deepened communication between China and ASEAN in scientific innovation.

Pragmatic cooperation has been carried out between the two sides in areas spanning the joint construction of laboratories, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center, since its establishment eight years ago, has set up a collaboration network for technology transfer for institutions and companies in China and ASEAN countries. It has held more than 100 matchmaking events and nearly one third of them were held in ASEAN countries, promoting around 6,000 projects and benefiting more than 8,500 companies.

Institutions operation technology transfer of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore have carried out cooperation with the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center, and have established the Guangxi-Nanyang scientific innovation center at the innovation space.

Cao Kunhua, head of the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and director of the China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center, said that Guangxi will deepen scientific opening-up and cooperation and accelerate the construction of the scientific innovation cooperation zones with ASEAN.
